Wellbe4OSH – Observatory of Well-Being for Occupational Safety and Health aims to conduct an in-depth study of management practices and the well-being of professionals in the engineering and construction sectors, as well as of their organizations, while fostering communication and dialogue among organizations, professionals, and other relevant stakeholders.
Wellbe4OSH adopts a perspective of the organization as a living system, based on fundamental structural principles, namely belonging, hierarchy, and balance, recognizing that clarity of roles, responsibilities, and hierarchical relationships—combined with a sense of belonging and balanced organizational dynamics—is a critical factor for psychological well-being, safety, and health at work. This systemic approach makes it possible to understand in an integrated way the human, organizational, and relational factors that influence the functioning of organizations in the construction sector.
The following specific objectives can be identified:
To characterize management practices, as well as the needs related to the promotion of well-being, occupational health and safety, and the prevention of psychosocial and other work-related risks affecting professionals and organizations in the engineering and construction sectors in Portugal;
To assess the responses provided and their adequacy in meeting the identified needs;
To propose appropriate measures to the relevant authorities;
To conduct an in-depth study of the relationship between management, health, safety, well-being, and productivity from a strategic perspective;
To disseminate data through an annual report.
